The twin brothers that make up this street art collaboration, Skewville, began leaving behind their sneaker cutouts around 1999. Silhouettes of the shoes seen dangling from the wires reference the urban upbringing from which the two grew up in New York City. While some may associate these markers with gang or drug territory, for others, they are a nostalgic reminder of mischievous adolescent memories.
