PHLEGM:
(English)
Words that come to mind when describing Phlegm’s work: folkloric, whimsical, larger-than-life, remarkably detailed. His black-and-white murals are built up through a sequence of entangled narratives. Depending on a viewer’s location in relation to the wall, new details and stories found deep within his work are revealed to the public in stages — playful and dreamlike yet familiar. Currently Phlegm’s only mural in New York City, the artist’s hooded characters consume this 3-story facade with delicate line work and illustrative detail that is not usually expected from a spray can.
